Gill Autrey is an Atlanta based designer primarily focused on branding, packaging and food photography.
Gill graduated from Atlanta’s Portfolio Center with a degree in graphic design. Upon graduation, he joined Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles as the magazine’s Creative Director. His six year tenure included an award winning redesign of the publication in 2003. The masthead logo he designed is still used by the publication.
Following his time with Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles, Gill served as the Creative Director for Fire & Flavor Grilling Co. designing product packaging, art directing photography and managing the company’s brand assets. In conjunction with Fire and Flavor, Gill produced several award winning cookbooks for Gena Knox Media: Gourmet Made Simple, Southern My Way: Simple Recipes, Fresh Flavors, and Southern My Way: Food & Family. He worked with John Wayne Enterprises designing packaging for John Wayne Stock & Supply.
Gill has always had a passion for photography. Many years of work focusing on food packaging and cookbooks exposed him to the genre of food photography. Gill has become a skilled and sought-after food photographer in his own right, photographing for websites, ads and cookbooks. Most recently, Gill photographed Southern Baked: Celebrating Life with Pie, a cookbook due to be published by Smith Gibbs in August 2018.
Gill resides in Sandy Springs with his wife, two daughters and four dogs. Gill is an avid trail runner and enjoys spending time outdoors along the Chattahoochee river.
